Kamal Haasan Solo Release On Aug 24th

Kamal Haasan is being reported to be gearing up to screen his magnum opus Viswaroopam on 24th of this August, as the movie was waiting for the solo release from past few months.There is abuzz in the Kollywood tinsel town on the delay of Viswaroopam release, it is said that Kamal has quoted certain amounts for the distributors namely Rs.80cr for Tamil version, Rs.55cr for Hindi and Rs.25cr for the Telugu edition respectively, which is a huge sum and the distributors have no words for the counter offer and Kamal Haasan has to wait so long.Now there were some statements milling that Kamal Haasan is likely to release his Viswaroopam on Aug 24th seeking a solo release in Bollywood and Tollywood along with Kollywood. Hearing Postponed For Thuppakki Movie

The hearing of Vijay's Thuppakki title issue, scheduled in a Chennai civil court on July 16 has been postponed. Now, the hearing will take place on July 19.The court earlier granted an injunction till July 16 restraining the makers of Thuppakki from using the title of the AR Murugadoss directorial film in any forms. The justice passed the order on an application filed by upcoming director Ravi Devan.The petitioner had claimed that he had registered the title Kallathuppakki in the year 2009 itself and it's been renewed every year and the film production is in the process and at the completion stage. At this stage, if the said title was given to them, then definitely he will be put to secure loss and hardship. He had also claimed that the logo of Vijay's film has a striking resemblance to the logo of his film.On the other end, Kalaipuli S Dhanu filed a counter affidavit denying the accusations made against them and said that Thuppakki and Kallathuppakki do not convey the same meaning and the comparison should not be drawn between the titles. "Thuppakki means a licensed weapon and Kallathuppakki means an unlicensed weapon," he pleaded.According to him, words that sound phonetically similar but conveying diagonally opposite meaning cannot be termed as similar words. The logo of the gun advertised by Kalaipuli for Thuppakki bearing a striking resemblance to Kallathuppakki is too far fetched imagination and puerile and no person can assert ownership for a logo depicting a common object like a gun, he appealed.

Universal Star Kamal Hassan, who shares a good relationship with Sivaji Ganesan family, is all set to launch the audio of Vikram Prabhu's debut movie Kumki. Ajith sizzles as don The suspense is finally over. The hype and hoopla has receded as the first show of Billa 2 is done and dusted. The question that immediately pops up in one's mind is whether the movie is worth a watch? Does it match its first part? The answer could be a yes, but partially.Billa 2 is a prequel to Ajith's 2007 film Billa which was directed by Vishnuvardhan. The new edition is directed by Chakri Toleti who has wielded the megaphone for Unnaipol Oruvan.The film traces the history of a dreaded gangster David Billa and finds out the reasons behind his transformation from an ordinary man to a warlord.Pravathy Omnakuttan and Bruna Abdullah play female leads while Bollywood stars Sudhanshu Pandey and Vidyuth Jamwal are cast as baddies. Music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by R D Rajasekar.The movie relies heavily on Ajith. With a wafer-thin storyline, at places events unfold quickly to sustain our interest. Story

David Billa (Ajith) a Lankan refugee comes to a camp in Rameshwaram.He fights against injustice in the refugee camp.Now he comes across a few mafias and tries to become one. Slowly he moves towards achieving his mission and meets Abbasi (Sudhanshu Pandey) in Goa. Abbasi is a dreaded mafia don. Billa manages to win his patronage and makes trip to Georgia to meet an international don Dmitri (Vidyut Jamwal). As it happens, the rise of Billa creates a rift in between him Billa and Abbasi. Now Billa decides to announce his arrival.Several hurdles come his way including Dmitri himself. How he accomplished the task is the rest.

Report

Ajith shoulders the burden as he did in the first part. He is at ease playing a baddie. It is no easy task to do such a character, but he does it well. Especially the climax stunt sequence is a treat for Ajith fans.Parvathy Omanakuttan and Bruna Abdullah seem to play cameos. They come and disappear.Sudhanshu and Vidyut are majestic and have terrific screen presence. Also the film has Ilavarasu, Manoj K Jayan and Rahman.

Technicalities

Rajasekhar's camera speaks a lot in Billa 2. Be it Goa, Chennai or Georgia, he captures them well. Yuvan's music is a letdown. He manages to bring solace with his background score. Dialogues by Era Murugan are worth to listen. 'Mathavanoda Bayam dan nambaloda Balam is one of the highlights.Selva's art works are authentic.

Analysis 

It is a triucky tale for the story is wafer-thin. But Chakri has ensured that events unfold at quick pace. Sadly more brawny and less brainy, Billa 2 sparkles in moments. It is a thorough entertainer for Ajith fans.

Jr NTR Was Attacked By A Group

NTR's office in Filmnagar was attacked by a group of unidentified youngsters late last night. Although no major damage was done to the office, there was a lot of commotion earlier today when people spotted that glass panes of the office building was smashed. No one was injured in this incident. The timing of this attack has become the talk of the town. Recently, NTR had told in a press meet that he has got nothing to do with Kodali Nani joining YSR Congress Party and he also mentioned that he'll always be loyal to TDP. The police are currently investigating this issue. Meanwhile, TDP Politburo member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu issued a statement saying, "TDP strongly condemns this attack on NTR's office in Filmnagar." NTR flew to Italy to join the team of his upcoming film Baadshah.

Junior NTR Im Not A Bond

Ever since Srinu Vaitla announced his upcoming film Baadshah, rumours mills in T-Town were abuzz with the news that Junior NTR will reprise the role of secret agent James Bond in the movie. But Gopi Mohan, who is one of the scriptwriters of the film, has slammed the reports saying that he is not playing Bond in it.Gopi Mohan took to his Twitter account to clear the rumours about Junior NTR's role in his upcoming movie Baadshah. The story writer tweeted, Ntr is not playing JamesBond role or a Secret Agent in Baadshah.It's a good action & comedy entertainer with love,family  other emotions sic.Along with Kona Venkat, Gopi Mohan has written the story for the movie Baadshah, while director Srinu Vaitla penned the screenplay for it. Ajith Kumar has proved his star power again, as his latest trailer of his upcoming movie Billa 2 has garnered more attention than a much-awaited Bollywood film. Well, the new teaser of the Tamil movie has got more hits on YouTube than Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D'Cruz starrer Barfi.Billa 2 and Barfi trailers were released on July 2 evening and both the trailers have been overwhelmingly welcomed by fans. But the interesting part of the story is that the teaser of Tamil film got more views than the Bollywood movie. Director Samuthirakani is all set to start his new venture Nimirndhu Nil from tomorrow, July 5th, 2012. The film will have Jayam Ravi and Amala Paul in the lead roles. Nimirndhu Nil is being produced by KS Sreenivasan under the banner Vasan Visual Ventures.GV Prakash Kumar will be composing the tunes for this film. Vijay's Movie Name Changed!

Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s first production venture, Sattam Oru Iruttarai, has been renamed Thozhan. This film is the remake of a yesteryear hit flick directed by Vijay’s dad SA Chandrsekar. Vijay is producing Thozhan under the banner JS Films.Earlier, it was announced that Vikram Prabhu will be playing the lead role in this film along with Karthiga. But now it is certain that Thaman, a new face, and Bindu Madhavi will be the lead pair. Reema Sen, Suresh and Pia Bajpai will be seen in important roles.Sneha Britto is directing this film under the guidance of director-producer SA Chandrasekar. The shooting of Thozhan is currently on at full swing at Chennai.

Maatraan Release On July 23

The much-awaited album of Surya's Maatraan will be hitting the stores by this month end. Currently, the final fixing of the songs are in progress and it is likely to release on July 23 in a grand manner.The movie is expected to release on August 15. Harris Jayaraj, the music director of the film, has confirmed the news on Twitter. He wrote, "Final mixing for the songs of Maatraan on process.Album will be out by this month." The movie has six songs for which Madan Karky and others have penned the lyrics.A few weeks ago, Eros International, which had acquired the distribution rights of Maatraan in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka regions, sold the music rights to Sony Music. It is believed that the audio rights have been acquired by the music company for a fancy price.

Rajinikanth's forthcoming movie Kochadaiyaan has broken the record of his earlier movie Sivaji, the satellite rights of his latest film has been acquired by Jaya TV for a huge price, which is said to be the highest for a Rajini film till date.Kochadaiyaan satellite rights have been sold for more than Rs. 5.5 crore thereby breaking the record of Rajinikanth's earlier movie Sivaji, which was sold for Rs. 5 crore to Sun TV. Eros International Media MD Sunil Lulla, "We are confident that like Sivaji and Robot this (Kochadaiyaan) will also be a landmark film in Rajinikanth's career with attractive monetization avenues and we are privileged to be a part of it. We are delighted to have Jaya TV on board for the Tamil satellite rights. We will also be releasing a separate Hindi version along with the Tamil version.Rajinikanth's Kochadaiyaan will be release on an unique day. The magnum opus is likely to release on 12.12.12, which also coincides with the superstar's birthday (December 12). And the audio of the film will release in September in Tokyo, Japan.

Vijay Thuppakki Teaser On Court

Vijay's Thuppakki too seems to be delayed following an injunction order from the court, which has directed the makers of the film not to use the 'Thuppakki' title in any form.Originally, Thuppakki trailer launch was supposed to held on Vijay's birthday, June 22, but the plans were changed by director AR Murugadoss, who felt that the event might go unnoticed due to Saguni release. However, he had promised to deliver the trailer in the first week of July.But, the court has granted the interim injunction till July 17 for the makers of the film from using the title Thuppakki and its logo after Ravi Devan, a former associate of Kamal Hassan, filed the case. In his complaint, he claimed that the title of Vijay's film sounds similar to his movie Kalla Thuppakki and the logo too has some resemblance.Without any other option, the movie bosses of Thuppakki are forced to delay the trailer launch event, The function is likely to happen by the end of this month. It is a disappointing news for Ajith Kumar fans from the makers of Billa 2. Well, the trailer launch function of Billa 2, which was planned to be organised today (July 2), has been cancelled following a dispute between the producers and distributors of the movie.Rumour mills are abuzz with the news that the disagreement over a financial deal between the producers and distributors have lead the movie bosses to cancel the event. However, now it is said that the trailer will be directly released on a video sharing site on internet by today evening. Nonetheless, there is not any official statement by the makers of the film.On the other end the movie bosses are planning to start the Billa 2 promotions from tomorrow.Movie will release worldwide on July 13 in multiple languages.
